In Memoriam: Thomas George, Professor Emeritus and Former Associate Dean, CEHHS

Thomas George, professor emeritus and former associate dean of academic affairs and administrative services in the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences, passed away at his home in Knoxville on October 18, 2018.

“The College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences recently lost a former Professor, Associate Dean and friend.” said Dean Bob Rider.  “Tom George was the consummate professional, gentleman and my friend and I will miss him dearly.  Please join me in keeping Tom’s wife Jan, his children, grandchildren and all his family members and friends in our thoughts and prayers.”

George retired with the ranking of Professor Emeritus from UT in 2012 after serving as both a professor and Associate Dean of the College for 39 years.  He received his B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University, Los Angeles and his Doctorate of Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1973.
