Karin Allor Pfeiffer, Ph.D., FACSM, FNAK
Michigan State University
Dr. Pfeiffer is a Red Cedar Distinguished Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Michigan State University and a fellow of both the American College of Sports Medicine and National Academy of Kinesiology. In August of 2022 she became Director of the Institute for the Study of Youth Sports. Dr. Pfeiffer has been studying physical activity and health-related fitness in children and youth for over 25 years. Her main areas of expertise are in physical activity assessment and interventions to increase physical activity in children and adolescents. She has over 250 research publications and has worked on several NIH- and foundation-funded research projects. She is Past-President of the North American Society for Pediatric Exercise Medicine and Midwest American College of Sports Medicine. She is currently Chair-Elect of the National Physical Activity Plan. She also serves on the Leadership Board of the National Youth Sports Health and Safety Institute.
Leah E. Robinson, PhD

Leah E. Robinson, PhD, is a Professor in the School of Kinesiology, Faculty Director of the MICHR K12 Program, and Director of the Child Movement, Activity, and Developmental Health Laboratory at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on motor skill acquisition, physical activity, and developmental health in pediatric populations, emphasizing motor competence and confidence for lifelong health. Since 2015, she has secured over 43 million dollars in research funding as a PI or Co-I from the NIH, American Diabetes Association, U.S. Department of Education, and Meta Platforms, etc. Dr. Robinson is a Fellow of the National Academy of Kinesiology, International Motor Development Research Consortium, American College of Sports Medicine, and AAHPERD. She is also Executive Editor for the Journal of Motor Learning and Development.
