Hello, Isagoge family!
We are disappointed to share with you that we will no longer be hosting Camp Isagoge. We are so grateful for the three fun-packed years of serving our community in this way, as well as for your willingness to share your young campers with us! We look forward to continuing to serve your campers via Camp Koinonia and Fun-tastic Field Day.
Camp Koinonia is a weeklong, overnight camp program hosted each spring. This is our legacy program (established in 1977), serving youth and young adults with various disabilities. Koinonia is the Greek word meaning “fellowship” and “caring community.” Hosted at the 4-H Center in Crossville, TN, campers ages 7 through high school graduation spend the week engaging in camp activities that can be adapted to fit their needs.
Fun-tastic Field Day is a two-hour event hosted on UT’s campus each spring. This is designed for children of all ages and ability levels and includes traditional field day activities that can be modified for full participation, as well as adapted sports (wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, and goalball).
Isagoge is from the Greek language, meaning “to introduce.” The goals of this program were to provide an introduction to our camp programs, fill a need we saw in day-camp provision, and provide University students with hands-on learning opportunities. While we are disappointed that we are no longer hosting Isagoge, we are grateful for the families (you!) this camp introduced us to. We are thankful for your understanding and look forward to serving and seeing you this upcoming camp year!
