All month long, the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (CEHHS) is collecting socks for our downtown neighbors in need!
Why give socks?
🧦 1) Socks are a real need for our homeless neighbors. Imagine, you carry all of your belongings with you each day. Maybe you’ve got two pairs of jeans, a couple of shirts, a couple of pairs of underwear, and some socks. And, socks get dirty. They get dirty fast.
🧦 2) New socks are gold to our homeless neighbors because they help defend from several health problems associated with keeping clean–imagine taking a shower and then having to put on dirty socks.Â
🧦 3) Let’s face it. Giving someone in our community something that they genuinely need just feels good. 🧡Â
All are welcome to join us in SOCKTOBER! 🧦 📦 Sock Boxes can be found by the digital boards in Bailey, Claxton, HPER, and Jessie Harris Buildings. #GoVols #socktober
