For Learning, Attention, and Developmental Concerns
Every student learns differently—and when academic, attention, or behavioral challenges start to interfere with success at school, a comprehensive evaluation can help provide answers and a path forward. At the KLASS Center, we offer in-depth psychoeducational evaluations for students of all ages to better understand how they think, learn, and function in daily life.
These evaluations are designed to identify and clarify concerns such as:
- Learning disorders (like dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia)
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Intellectual disabilities or giftedness
- Processing or memory difficulties
- Developmental, emotional, or behavioral challenges affecting school or daily functioning
Our goal is to provide clear, evidence-based information that helps students, families, and educators make informed decisions about supports, interventions, and—when appropriate—accommodations or special education services.
Who Is This Evaluation For?
We provide assessments for:
- Toddlers and children showing early signs of learning or developmental difficulties
- Elementary and high school students struggling in reading, math, writing, or attention
- Adolescents and college students navigating persistent academic or behavioral challenges
- Graduate or professional (law, medicine, veterinary, etc.) students seeking documentation for accommodations for tests, classroom, or applied settings.
- Families or educators seeking documentation to support services like IEPs, 504 Plans, testing accommodations or college accommodations
What the Evaluation Includes
Each evaluation is tailored to the student’s unique needs and typically involves:
- Initial Intake Interview: A conversation with caregivers (and the student, when appropriate) to gather background information and clarify goals for the evaluation.
- Standardized Testing: Over two sessions, we assess cognitive abilities, academic achievement, attention, memory, executive functioning, and emotional/behavioral functioning.
- Teacher/School Input: With permission, we may contact teachers or review school records to gain a fuller picture of the student’s day-to-day functioning.
- Feedback Session: After testing is complete, we meet with the caregivers and/or student to review the results, explain any diagnoses, and walk through practical, personalized recommendations.
- Written Report: Families receive a detailed report that can be used to support applications for school-based services (like IEPs or 504 Plans), tutoring, therapy, or college accommodations.
Timeline for Evaluation
Our comprehensive evaluations are thoughtfully scheduled over three separate visits, typically completed within 3 to 4 weeks:
- Day 1: Intake interview and testing (3 hours)
- Day 2: In-person testing (3 hours)
- Day 3: Feedback session (60 minutes) to review results and next steps
We understand that schedules can be busy, so we’ll work with you to space out appointments in a way that works for your family.
