At our clinic, we understand how important it is to understand your child’s unique needs. Our Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) evaluation is designed to help families get clear, compassionate answers when there are questions about how a child thinks, communicates, and interacts with the world.
What Is an ASD Evaluation?
An ASD evaluation is a thorough and thoughtful process that helps us understand your child’s strengths and challenges. We look at many areas of development, including:
-
Social interaction and communication
-
Play and behavior patterns
-
Learning and problem-solving
-
Emotional and sensory responses
Our team uses a variety of tools such as interviews, observation, and standardized assessments to get a full picture of your child’s development. We also speak with you, and often with teachers or other caregivers, because your insights are an important part of the process.
What to Expect
-
Initial Intake: We start with a parent interview to learn about your child’s history, behaviors, and daily life.
-
Testing Sessions: Your child will meet with a trained clinician for one or more sessions that may include interactive play-based assessments, problem-solving tasks, and activities to understand how they communicate and relate to others.
-
Feedback and Next Steps: After the evaluation is complete, we’ll meet with you to explain the results in plain language. You’ll receive a written report with helpful recommendations tailored to your child’s needs at home, school, and in the community.
Why It Matters
Early and accurate identification of autism can open the door to services and support that help your child thrive. Whether you’re just beginning to have concerns or seeking a second opinion, our goal is to support you every step of the way with compassion, respect, and expert care.
