Senior Student Affairs Coordinator – Parkside Campus, South College – Knoxville, TN

Taylor Sexton serves as the Senior Student Affairs Coordinator at South College’s Parkside Campus, bringing over 13 years of experience in education. Most recently, she spent six years teaching at Bearden Elementary School in Knoxville, where she supported student success through science curriculum development and school-wide initiatives. Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, Taylor earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University in Baltimore. In 2019, she and her family relocated to Tennessee, where she completed a master’s degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Upon graduating, she received her Instructional Leader’s License (ILL), further affirming her dedication to educational leadership and student development. Throughout her career, Taylor has demonstrated a strong commitment to student engagement, academic support, and program innovation. She has experience building science programs and securing grant funding to expand STEM opportunities for young learners. In her role at South College, Taylor brings that same passion and initiative—working to cultivate an inclusive, engaging, and supportive campus environment where students can thrive.

“The Master of Education in Educational Leadership program at the University of Tennessee empowered me with the practical tools and leadership strategies needed to support students beyond the classroom. It bridges academic theory with real-world challenges—preparing me to lead with purpose in higher education.”
