Leah Buffington is a PhD candidate in the Higher Education Administration program at the University of Tennessee. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication from Mississippi College and her Master of Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University. Leah has worked in higher education in a variety of roles at the University of Tennessee’s Tickle College of Engineering and Haslam College of Business, and most recently at Carnegie Mellon University as the PhD Program Manager in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute. She currently works in Student Support Services with the Jackson County School System in Jefferson, Georgia.
Her research explores women in leadership, leadership development, women’s experiences in higher education leadership, and leader self-identity. Outside of school and work, Leah enjoys volunteering and being active in her community.
