HEAM PhD

Bukky Abdul began the Higher Education Administration PhD (HEAM) program in 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Covenant University in Nigeria and a Master of Science in Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University. Bukky currently serves as the Assistant Director of Career Management for Supply Chain Management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK). Previously, she worked as a Senior Career Coach at UTK, supporting students in the creative fields. Bukky has coached individuals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities, helping them clarify their goals and achieve meaningful career outcomes. She is passionate about guiding students on their professional development journeys and supporting their sense of belonging in higher education. Her research interests center on the experiences of immigrant administrators in the United States, issues of legitimacy in higher education, and the academic and career belonging of international students.
