ESM PhD

Hi! My name is M. Andrew Young. Prior to UT, I completed three business degrees from different institutions, the most recent was an MBA from Tusculum University. I have served as the Director of Assessment & Institutional Excellence for the ETSU Gatton College of Pharmacy since January 2020. Since the beginning of my PhD studies, I have developed a love for evaluation practices using a variety of methodological approaches including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods designs. I am deeply-rooted in the lower East Appalachian region, love nature, gardening, beekeeping, rock-climbing, playing disc golf, writing and playing music, and most of all, sharing these things with my family of a wife and three children. Post-PhD, I hope to use my learning and experience to positively impact the lives of the people in the lower East Appalachian region.
