UNDERGRADUATE

PROGRAMS

The Department of Counseling, Human Development, and Family Science offers an undergraduate major and minor in Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) alongside a minor in Interpersonal Development. Our undergraduate programs prepare professionals to work alongside individuals, families, and communities to face the different challenges of today’s complex society. Through applied and engaged experiences, graduates are well-equipped to bring their skills into diverse work settings or continue to graduate study.

Major in Human Development and Family Science

Our BS in Health and Human Sciences with a major in HDFS equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively with individuals and families in community services and other settings. The program meets educational requirements for credentialing as a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE).

The HDFS program helped me grow my passion for working with children and families and helped me better serve a local elementary afterschool program through my understanding of child development. I appreciated the commitment each of the faculty has to working with students to help them succeed!
