I regularly teach HDFS 210: Development Across the Lifespan and HDFS 220: Marriage and Family – Intimate Relationships in a Changing Society. I also coordinate and teach the HDFS 480N Internship program, supporting students as they apply classroom knowledge to real-world experiences.
Before joining the faculty at the University of Tennessee, I worked as a counselor and supervisor of the Home Ties Program, where I provided support to children and families through early intervention services. My professional background also includes marketing program services to community organizations and providing in-home crisis support to families affected by abuse and neglect.
I enjoy collaborating with students across all disciplines, as each brings unique insight and perspective to the learning environment. Currently, I serve on the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences General Education Subcommittee for Social Sciences (Vol Core). Additionally, I advise two student organizations:

Royal Encounters, a student-led initiative that brings joy to children in need through character visits from beloved princesses and superheroes.

Advocates for School Culture, a peer-mentoring group that partners with local schools—particularly in underserved neighborhoods—to promote positive school environments and student success.
