Research
Currently reviewing applications for graduate students to begin Fall 2026.
My work as an applied relationship scientist centers on romantic relationships and community-based interventions, with a particular focus on dyadic health and the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals. Grounded in family systems and intersectionality frameworks, my research seeks to understand complex patterns of relational and individual well-being, along with the mechanisms and trajectories of changes among diverse intervention participants. My work is rooted in translational science, with a primary focus on the design, implementation, and evaluation of intervention programs that support relational health. Much of my work prioritizes romantically involved LGBTQ+ adults, guided by frameworks that honor both minority stress and queer joy.

Engagement
Service and engagement is an important aspect of my scholarly identity as an applied researcher. Nationally, I am currently serving as the Student and New Professional Representative in the Family and Community Education section for the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). Since joining UTK, I have joined several projects that heavily emphasize community engagement such as the youth relationship education program led by the Relationship Builder team and partnered with local youth service agencies, as well as the relationship health section of the SPARK team working on relationship education for parents transitioning into parenthood. I am also actively building relationships with local Pride organizations, aiming to establish collaborative relationships as I move to pilot a relationship education program designed for LGBTQ+ adults.
