Engagement

I regularly teach CFS 210 (Development Across the Lifespan) and CFS 220 (Marriage and Family- Intimate Relationships in a Changing Society). In addition to the aforementioned courses , I coordinate and teach HDFS Internship.

Before teaching at the University of Tennessee, I counseled children and their families through the Head Start Program; introduced and marketed program services to other community service organizations; and provided in-home crisis services to the families of abused and neglected children.
I enjoy working with students from all disciplines within the campus system since each brings a new perspective to the classroom experience. Currently, I serve on the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences General Education Subcommittee for social sciences Vol Core. I am also an advisor for two student organizations on Campus. Royal Encounters is a student-run organization bringing magic and memories to kids in need through visits with their favorite princesses and superheroes. Advocates for School Culture is a student-led group that works in the local school system, providing peer mentoring targeting schools in disadvantaged neighborhoods.
