Diagnostic Evaluation for ADHD (College)

If you’ve been struggling with focus, time management, or mental fatigue, you may be wondering:

  • “Could I have ADHD?”
  • “Would treatment help me concentrate?”
  • “Is this just stress, or something more?”

The KLASS Center offers thorough ADHD evaluations for students who are considering treatment and need diagnostic clarity. Many campus and community medical providers require a formal evaluation before prescribing medications. This assessment is designed to meet that need and help guide next steps.

What Is an ADHD Evaluation?

This is a detailed, evidence-based assessment that looks at your attention, thinking skills, and mental health to determine whether ADHD is the most accurate explanation for your concerns. Because symptoms like distractibility, disorganization, or low motivation can also be caused by other issues—such as anxiety, depression, or sleep disruption—we also consider a full range of possibilities as part of a responsible diagnostic process.

Our goal is to help you and your medical provider make informed decisions based on an accurate understanding of what’s going on.

What the Evaluation Includes

  • Clinical Interview: We’ll talk with you about your experiences, history, and current concerns.
  • Standardized Testing: You’ll complete tasks and questionnaires that assess attention, memory, executive functioning, and emotional well-being.
  • Developmental History: Because ADHD begins in childhood, we may ask for academic records or speak with someone who knew you growing up (with your permission).
  • Differential Diagnosis: We assess not just for ADHD, but also screen for other conditions that might better explain your challenges.
  • Feedback and Report: Once the evaluation is complete, we’ll meet with you to explain the findings in plain language. You’ll receive a detailed report you can share with your healthcare provider to support any treatment decisions.

Please Note

This evaluation is intended for students seeking diagnostic clarification to support medical treatment decisions only. It does not provide documentation for academic accommodations or disability services. If you are seeking accommodations, please see our webpage for a comprehensive evaluation.
