Shalaunda Reeves is an Assistant Professor of STEM Education (learning, design, and educational technology) in the Department of Theory and Practice in Teacher Education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Her research focuses on how the design, development, and implementation of learning experiences impact STEM learning across various contexts, including extended reality, classrooms, labs/clinical spaces, and other organizations to support workforce development. Professor Reeves views each domain as a culture with unique perspectives on generating, communicating, evaluating, and updating knowledge. She is dedicated to identifying effective approaches that translate domain-specific knowledge into learning experiences that address key aspects of a phenomenon and enhance the learner’s experience. As an accomplished extended reality designer and STEM education scholar, Professor Reeves conducts design-based research to enhance educational practices and develop learner-centered solutions.
