Frances K. Harper, assistant professor of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education / math education, recently facilitated a successful book club with preschool teachers at Fair Garden Preschool, a public preschool in the Knox County school district. The book club read and discussed Exploring Mathematics Through Play in the Early Childhood Classroom by Amy Parks, PhD. CEEMS provided books for the teachers, and Professor Harper facilitated the discussions of the book, including some mathematical play with the teachers.
