ORGANIZATIONS

Your experience in the Department of Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Management (RHTM) goes beyond the classroom. We believe that building a strong community and professional network is a key part of your success. Our student organizations are your gateway to connecting with fellow students, faculty, alumni, and industry leaders who will help you launch your career.

National Retail Federation Student Association (NRFSA)

The National Retail Federation Student Association (NRFSA) is the primary organization for students in the Retail and Merchandising Management major. As a member, you get direct access to the pulse of the industry through our affiliation with the National Retail Federation—the world’s largest retail trade association.

As a member, you will:

  • Connect with leaders from top retail brands at exclusive networking events.
  • Gain the chance to attend the NRF Student Program in New York City, a premier event for career opportunities and internships.
  • Receive exclusive industry insights and professional development resources.
  • Build invaluable connections that can shape your future in corporate retail, merchandising, and e-commerce.

This organization is perfect for students passionate about merchandising, buying, e-commerce, store management, and corporate retail.

Future Hospitality Leaders Association (FHLA)

The Future Hospitality Leaders Association (FHLA) is the go-to organization for students focusing on the Hospitality and Tourism Management major. FHLA brings together majors and minors to explore the many facets of the industry, connecting students with professionals and providing valuable hands-on learning experiences.

As a member, you will:

  • Learn from industry experts through engaging guest speakers and Q&A sessions.
  • Gain behind-the-scenes insights during field trips to top-tier hotels, resorts, and event venues.
  • Develop career-readiness skills with resume workshops and mock interviews.
  • Discover exclusive internships, jobs, and volunteer opportunities shared within the organization.
