2024 RHTM Internship Spotlights

HTM – Lily Vincent, Rocky Top Sports World (Spring 2024) and Nashville Convention and Visitor Corporation (Summer 2024)

Lily Vincent, a senior majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management, completed her HTM internship over the summer at Rocky Top Sports World in Sevier County, Tennessee and showing her hardworking spirit took on an additional experience over the summer in with the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation. Lily is an aspiring event management professional and both of these experiences gave her new perspectives and skills on the industry. At Rocky Top Sports World, Lily was directly involved in the management of large-scale sports tournaments hosting hundreds of athletes and their guests. She was able to experience all sides of the planning process including communication with tournament leadership, event staffing, security, food menu preparation, and in-depth planning for tournament activities. At Nashville Convention and Visitor Corporation, she worked on the annual 4th of July event in downtown Nashville that drew a record number of people at over 350,000+. We are proud of Lily and the work ethic that she represents for the Hospitality and Tourism Management program.

RMM – Camryn Kinsman, Assistant Merchant Intern for Kohl’s

Camryn Kinsman, Senior in RMM, spent this past summer working as an Assistant Merchant Intern for Kohl’s in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Camryn took on various responsibilities from weekly reporting and merchandising analysis to strategic pricing and data analytics. Her favorite part of the internship was touring the photo studio where the products come to life through marketing and promotion. “This internship really opened my eyes to what it is like to be a merchant. My perception of the retail industry has changed immensely, showing me that that there are so many different avenues and landscapes” said Camryn. “My internship at Kohl’s has been transformative, equipping me with practical skills, industry knowledge, and a clearer vision of my career path ahead.”
