Senior Director of Advancement
Randy is originally from Nashville, TN but calls Knoxville home. After moving to east Tennessee in 1976, Randy was fortunate to attend one of the best public schools in the entire state – Farragut High School. Graduating in 1985, Randy sought admittance to only one institution of higher education which was the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His love of science propelled him to a B.A. Degree in Biology which he then utilized in a laboratory setting making veterinary pharmaceuticals at a facility in Denver, CO.
He returned to East Tennessee after a few years and was fortunate to begin a fourteen-year career with the Boy Scouts of America. This position translated well into obtaining a position at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2008 as Assistant Development Director within the College of Arts and Sciences. Randy then elected to accept the position of Advancement Director for the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences in 2011 and feels very fortunate to serve one of the best colleges on campus. In total, he has been with UT for sixteen years.
Randy lives in Karns, TN with his wife, Genie who he has been married to since 1996. They enjoy short hikes, Tennessee sports, and backyard birdwatching. He has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Knoxville since 2007, volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America, and serves on the East Tennessee Public Television Community Advisory Board.
