Educators Hall of Honor
The Educators Hall of Honor praises professionals who already have established themselves in the field of education and helps students who one day will follow in their footsteps. The hall is open to any professional in the United States, and members have come from throughout Tennessee and the nation. Those honored have been teachers from elementary school to the college ranks.
We are now accepting nominations for the 2025 Class of the Educators Hall of Honor. All nominees must have the following submitted before January 31, 2025:
(All nominations will be reviewed and approved by the Educators Hall of Honor Selection Committee)
2023-2024 Educators Hall of Honor
The Educators Hall of Honor is more than just a way to honor a favorite teacher, coach, or administrator. It’s also a financial aid program in which worthy students are awarded a $5,000 academic scholarship which is generated from the Educators Hall of Honor Endowment. Each tax-deductible nomination fee or contribution to this endowment increases the impact on the academic journey of our students.
Through the Educators Hall of Honor, individuals can simultaneously honor their favorite educators and make a tax-deductible contribution to the Scholarship Endowment Fund. Plaques in the Educators Hall of Honor are engraved with the names of teachers and other educators who have had a profound impact on the lives of students and their professional colleagues. The plaques line the hall of Claxton Complex, beginning at the dean’s suite and continuing down the hall toward Bailey Education Complex and in the hallway on the next floor.
Candidates may be nominated in three different categories:
- An individual educator (at any level) or a person working in an education-related profession who has made or is making an outstanding contribution to the field
- An individual who is not considered an educator, but who is making or has made a highly significant impact on the field of education
- A group, organization, or school that is making or has made a significant impact on student learning or success or that has made a highly unusual contribution to scholarship funds for deserving or at-risk students.

Alumni FAQ
I can only afford a small gift. How will this make a difference?
Every donation, regardless of size, is important. By making a donation to the department or program of your choice, you express your loyalty to the college and support its tradition of excellence. New gifts from alumni help increase the university’s overall alumni giving percentage, thus placing UT ahead of its peer institutions. Many corporations and foundations use alumni giving participation as a determining factor in funding grant requests.
Where do my dollars go when I contribute to the CEHHS College Fund?
All areas of the college benefit from this fund. It provides students and faculty with the finest learning environment and the best college experience, whether it’s innovative technology or classroom maintenance. The dean determines areas with the greatest needs and addresses them through this fund.
Can I make a gift of stock?
Yes. Contact the CEHHS development office at 865-974-3968 or e-mail the director at ratkins@utfi.org.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes. The university will provide an acknowledgment for tax purposes.
How do matching gifts work?
Many companies will match your gift to the college, doubling or sometimes tripling your contribution. We encourage you to check with your company’s human resources or personnel office to determine whether your company has a corporate matching gift program. Obtain and complete the appropriate form and send it, along with your gift, to the the development office in our college.
Can I make a gift over time?
Yes. Pledges are acceptable and appreciated. You can fulfill your pledge in one payment during the fiscal year in which it was made, or you can stretch payments over a period of years and make equal payments on an annual basis.
