Dean’s Undergraduate Ambassador Board

Welcome to the Dean’s Undergraduate Ambassador!  Below you will find information about the purpose of this group and associated outcomes, opportunities, and application details.  Each spring, two or more undergraduate students from each CEHHS department will be selected as a part of a competitive process to represent their academic major on the board for the upcoming year.

Purpose of being a Dean’s Undergraduate Ambassador

The Dean’s Undergraduate Ambassador Board (DUAB) provides an opportunity for members to represent the college as student ambassadors and to advocate and provide feedback regarding the student experience to the College’s administration.  Additionally, ambassadors gain leadership experience as a representative between the academic departments and campus at large.

  • Social Media coordinator – this position assists the Advising representative with providing content on the DUAB Instagram channel. This position will frequently assist with photographing all admission events and hosting on-line chats with prospective students
  • Communications coordinator – this position assists the Advising representative with coordinating admission events, e-mails meeting updates to all ambassadors.  This position also assists with tracking ambassador attendance at recruitment events.

All ambassadors are expected to attend a monthly meeting.  If an ambassador is not able to attend a meeting, notification in advance should be submitted to the Communications coordinator and Advising representative.  Dates and times of required meetings for the upcoming academic term will be shared with members as early as possible.  All ambassadors will be required to submit a copy of their class schedule to assist with scheduling.

All ambassadors are required to participate in a minimum of 3 recruiting events per semester.  A schedule of recruiting events will be shared with the ambassadors so students can sign up.  Information will be stored on the university share drive, which ambassadors will be required to access and review.

All ambassadors should be available Monday – Friday from 11:00-Noon and 3:00pm to 4:00pm for prospective student visits in both the Fall and Spring semester.  Ambassadors must be available to give tours at these times to remain an ambassador.

All ambassadors will participate in e-mail correspondence with potential students through the RockyTopNewVol@utk account.  Ambassadors may also be asked to participate in other outreach activities such as letter writing, phone calls, or assisting with prospective student on-campus visits.

  • Good Standing  CEHHS
  • 2.5 UT cumulative GPA
  • Ability to meet the minimum responsibilities as outlined above
  • Ability to provide a positive image of CEHHS
  • Complete Interview


We have scheduled prospective students visits every day.  Students will interact with families to complete a 45-to-60-minute tour. Students will be required to sign up for a prospective student visit through-out the semester.

Applications are accepted March 3rd-March 29th.  Interviews will be on April 2nd, 2025

Mandatory Orientation for the Fall is scheduled for Saturday May 3rd.
