Practitioner Concentration, Secondary Mathematics (6-12) Education Specialization (Job-Embedded Program)
The MS in Teacher Education, Practitioner Concentration, Secondary Mathematics Education Specialization is a fully online program for college graduates who are currently employed or seeking employment as non-licensed teachers in middle grades mathematics or high school mathematics. To complete the program and teacher licensure requirements, you must be hired by a local school district and complete a minimum of one year (10 months) of full-time teaching.

The Secondary Mathematics Education programs are aligned to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics teacher preparation standards.
Thirty to thirty-eight credit hours are required to fulfill the requirements for the Master of Science, Practitioner Concentration. Students must complete licensure requirements within three years. Students completing the MS in Teacher Education, Practitioner Concentration, Secondary Mathematics education specialization earn both the MS degree and their Tennessee teaching license.
