Social Science Education with an Internship in Teaching
The MS in Teacher Education with a Social Science Education Professional Internship concentration prepares candidates to teach social sciences (history, geography, economics, and political science) to student in grades 6-12. Candidates are prepared to work in diverse settings to effectively meet the individual learning needs of their students. Candidates earn a B.A. in the area of social sciences that they wish to teach, a minor from a second social sciences content area, and a minor in secondary education. Then they complete the Professional Year – graduate coursework and a yearlong internship that leads to a master’s degree and teacher licensure.
