Art Education with an Internship in Teaching
The MS in Teacher Education with the Art Education Professional Internship concentration is designed for students who have already obtained a bachelor’s degree and are seeking initial teacher licensure. This program prepares students to teach art in diverse settings in grades K-12 to effectively meet the individual learning needs of their students. Candidates earn a degree in studio art (or related program), and a minor in art education. Then they complete the Professional Year – graduate coursework and a yearlong internship that leads to a master’s degree and teacher licensure. This program allows students to concurrently earn a Master’s degree while serving as an intern under the supervision of a highly skilled Mentor Teacher in a local school.
