Robyn Brookshire is a clinical assistant professor in interdisciplinary early childhood education in the Department of Theory and Practice in Teacher Education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Using qualitative and action research methods, Brookshire explores how cross-cultural and international perspectives can inspire critical inquiry and action research among educators. Formerly the Director of the Early Learning Center for Research and Practice at the University of Tennessee, she specializes in distributed leadership in program administration, ongoing professional development for both preservice and in-service teachers, culturally responsive practices, and nature-based learning. Prior to entering academia, Brookshire taught in early childhood and middle school classrooms and led a nonprofit youth wilderness program.
