Patricia Higgins, PhD

Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology

Biography

Patricia J. Higgins is a clinical assistant professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and is program coordinator for the Educational Psychology M.S. program – EdPsych Online. Her research interests include access and equity in educational settings, civility and anti-bullying in education, refugee and immigrant learners’ narratives, facilitating safe learning environments, intersectionality and power dynamics in learning environments, and educator development and lifelong learning. Higgins earned her PhD in educational psychology and adult learning from the University of Tennessee, and prior to moving into a faculty role, had a career in international student services and study abroad in higher education.
