Merilee McCurdy is a professor in school psychology in the Department of Theory and Practice in Teacher Education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and is the Unit Lead for the Special Education & Applied Learning Sciences (SEALS) Unit and coordinator of the school psychology program. She is also an affiliated faculty member of the Korn Learning, Assessment and Social Skills Center (KLASS).
She began her career with the University of Tennessee in 2014. For 14 years, she was on the faculty at the University of Nebraska in the School Psychology program. McCurdy’s research is focused on helping students become better writers, and she develops and evaluates classroom interventions that can be used by teachers. McCurdy enjoys spending time with family, reading, and cheering on her college sports teams (of which there are many).
