Katie Wilburn is an assistant professor of literacy education in the Department of Theory and Practice in Teacher Education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Wilburn is a former grades 4-7 classroom teacher and K-6 reading specialist. Her research focuses on the intersection of teacher knowledge, classroom practices, and student outcomes in the middle grades. She received her Ph.D. in rreading education from the University of Virginia.
