Angela Wegner, M.Ed.

Director

Special Education & Applied Learning Sciences

Angela Wegner leads the Center for Learning, Education, and Employment (CLEE) at the University of Tennessee, driving its mission to advance equity and access in education and employment through continuous improvement. CLEE builds capacity and forges partnerships to transform visions into reality through systems change, professional development, project management, event logistics, and strategic support. CLEE strives to achieve its vision: to actively innovate, empowering every individual with limitless opportunities to thrive throughout all stages of life.

Previously, Angela served as senior director of special education strategy at the Tennessee Department of Education, leading initiatives to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. Her career includes roles as a teacher, mentor, instructional coach, and principal, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of education systems.

Angela is dedicated to driving systemic change that creates schools that work for all children and communities where everyone can achieve meaningful employment and fulfilling lives.
