Practitioner Concentration, Elementary Education Specialization (Job-Embedded Program)

The MS in Teacher Education, Practitioner Concentration, Elementary Education Specialization is a fully online program for college graduates who are currently employed or seeking employment as non-licensed teachers. To complete the program and teacher licensure requirements, you must be hired by a local school district and complete a minimum of one year (10 months) of full-time teaching.

The Elementary Education programs are aligned to the national standards provided by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC), as well as to the State of Tennessee Educator Preparation Provider Literacy Standards.

Thirty to thirty-eight credit hours are required to fulfill the requirements for the Master of Science, Practitioner Concentration. Students must complete licensure requirements within three years. Students completing the MS in Teacher Education, Practitioner Concentration, Elementary education specialization earn both the MS degree and their Tennessee teaching license.
