Research
Faculty within the World Education program engage in research focused on instructional methods, integrated technologies, second language theories, and research and evaluation for world languages.
Programs
TPTE’s World Language Education program prepares individuals to become PreK–12 World Language educators and supports those seeking to deepen their expertise in the field.
Undergraduate Minor
Students interested in becoming PreK-12 World Language teachers can earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in the College of Arts and Sciences with a major in a world language (e.g., French, German, Latin, Spanish) and a minor in World Language Education. The undergraduate minor leads to a Master of Science (M. S.) degree that includes a year-long internship and the opportunity to earn teacher licensure.

We offer Master of Science (M.S.), Educational Specialist (Ed.S.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees with opportunities for focused study in World Language Education.
- The M.S. programs include pathways for students seeking initial teaching licensure as well as options for those who already hold a valid teaching license, are preparing to teach at the postsecondary level, or are pursuing careers that do not require licensure.
- The Ed.S. and Ph.D. programs are designed for students who already hold a master’s degree and wish to advance their professional knowledge and expertise in world language education.
