McKenzie Granata Green<\/p><\/div>\n

McKenzie Granata Green, a third-year PhD student in Public Health, was awarded a graduate fellow with The\u00a0Carnegie Foundation’s<\/a> Classification for Community Engagement. This is a mark of distinction for colleges and universities that demonstrate a significant commitment to community engagement, both in terms of curricular engagement (e.g., service-learning, community-based research) and co-curricular activities (e.g., volunteerism, partnerships with local organizations). As a graduate fellow, McKenzie will be assisting institutions seeking this classification in advancing their community engagement efforts through\u00a0program development\u00a0and coordination, mentorship, and evaluation. The fellowship will provide McKenzie with\u00a0valuable hands-on experience in higher education administration, community organization, program evaluation, and community engagement, and the ability to network with experts in community-engaged research.<\/p>\n

Previously, McKenzie was featured on our site for being awarded November 2024, McKenzie was awarded the West Virginia Association of Local Health Departments (WVALHD)<\/a> Innovation Award in November 2024.<\/strong>\u00a0 The award was given in recognition of McKenzie’s diligent work on increasing the respiratory illness vaccination rate in rural West Virginia communities.<\/p>\n
