{"id":75,"date":"2015-10-08T20:13:01","date_gmt":"2015-10-08T20:13:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cehhs-publichealth.utdev1.wpengine.com\/?page_id=75"},"modified":"2026-06-16T11:58:19","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T15:58:19","slug":"grad-minors","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/publichealth\/5-2\/grad-minors\/","title":{"rendered":"Graduate Minors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\"> Currently, our department makes two minors available to our MPH and PhD students: the epidemiology minor and the Intercollegiate Graduate Statistics Program (a statistics minor). <\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><div class=\"panel-group\" id=\"custom-collapse-0\" role=\"tablist\" aria-multiselectable=\"true\"><\/div><div class=\"panel  panel panel-default\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h3 class=\"panel-title\"><a class=\"collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#custom-collapse-0\"\" href=\"#custom-collapse-0-0\"  aria-expanded=\"true\" aria-controls=\"#custom-collapse-0-0\"><svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"icon-collapse\" viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\"><path d=\"M0 7.33l2.829-2.83 9.175 9.339 9.167-9.339 2.829 2.83-11.996 12.17z\"\/><\/svg> Community Health Education Minor<\/a><\/h3><\/div><div id=\"custom-collapse-0-0\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse panel-collapse collapse\"><div class=\"panel-body\"><\/p>\n<p>The graduate minor in community health education (CHE) provides graduate students the opportunity to build a strong methodological foundation which can be applied to public health and a variety of academic programs and research areas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements for the Minor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Average GPA of 3.0 or higher in all courses<\/li>\n<li>Approval of CHE concentration faculty<\/li>\n<li>Interested students must earn a minimum grade of B+ in PUBH 552: Assessment and Planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Semester Hours: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>12 semester hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Coursework (hours):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Public Health 537\u2014Program Evaluation (3)<\/li>\n<li>Public Health 552 &#8211;
