Two of the Department of Public Health’s distance education courses have been certified as “High Quality” through the UTK Engaged Online Course Review (EOC)
We are delighted to announce that our distance education sections of PUBH 530 – Biostatistics and PUBH 540-Epidemiology have been officially recognized as “high-quality” by the University of Tennessee’s Office of Digital Learning.
In order to be certified, courses must undergo a rigorous assessment of both the material included in the course as well as the learning experience of the students. Reviewers look at such things as the course content and learning activities, the clarity of grading policies, the technology needed to successfully complete the course, the accessibility of the course, the level of learner interaction required, and the academic support offered to learners. The complete list of qualifications can be found on the EOC’s Review Rubric.
This designation illustrates the Department of Public Health’s commitment to providing exceptional education opportunities to our distance education students.
Both PUBH 530 and PUBH 540 were adapted for distance education by MPH Distance Education Program Director Jennifer Perion, PhD, MCHES.
