2015- May 31-June 12

150 students from Austin East and Fulton High Schools (Knoxville, TN) will participate in a one-week, residential pre-college enrichment experience. Seventy-five students will attend each week, May 31-June 5 and June 7-12, 2015. Participants will reside in Laurel Hall with food services provided by UT Dining (Aramark).

The academic enrichment experience includes three core courses each morning, from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. including College Research Skills, Math and English. Students participate in on-campus (T-RECS) and off-campus recreation/social programs each week. Each Friday, Summer Institute scholars participate in community service projects throughout the Knoxville area. They volunteer with local community agencies such as Socially Equal Energy Efficient Development (SEEED), Knoxville Area Rescue Mission (KARM), and the Phyllis Wheatley Center.

A closing/graduation ceremony is presented for each group on Friday, June 5 and Friday, June 12.
