Didactic Program in Dietetics
Our Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) provides students with a BS degree and the four years of coursework that are needed to apply for supervised practice programs and continue their path to becoming a RDN. This four-year curriculum includes coursework in the role of nutrition in disease prevention and treatment, nutrition counseling and education, food science, and food service management as well as hands-on practicum courses. Currently, the minimum degree earned in order to take the RDN credentialing exam is a bachelor’s degree. However, as of January 1, 2024, a minimum of a master’s degree will be required in order to take the RDN credentialing exam.
