We also offer students within our Didactic Program the opportunity to earn both a BS and an MS in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics through our Future Education Model (FEM) Graduate Program. In this intensive Master’s program, students seamlessly transition from the undergraduate program in Nutrition-Dietetics into a one-year graduate program that includes the supervised practice hours needed to become an RDN. The program is competency-based and designed to provide >1,000 hours of supervised experiential learning in order to meet licensure and certification hour requirements for any state in which graduates choose to practice. Supervised practice experiences are planned and supervised by program faculty and preceptors in the Greater Knoxville area. Students begin accruing supervised practice hours in the Spring semester of the Junior year and continue until graduating with their Master’s degree. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the national credentialing examination to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. Students in good standing in our Dietetics concentration are eligible to apply to this program during their junior year.
