Angela Wozencroft, PhD<\/p><\/div>\n

On October 19, 2025, Professor Angela Wozencroft, professor and director of graduate studies in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies, was inducted as a Fellow of the National Academy of Recreational Therapy (NART) during the annual American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) conference in San Antonio, Texas.<\/p>\n

Led by its Fellows, NART\u00a0\u201cadvances recreational therapy through recognition, education, research, scholarly activity, advocacy, and advising decision-makers\u2014building networks, exchanging knowledge, promoting research, preparing future leaders, and fostering public understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n

Professor Wozencroft has made significant contributions to the University of Tennessee through her leadership of numerous programs, including Camp Koinonia, Camp Oginali, Koinonia Retreat, and Vision Camp. Professor Wozencroft\u2019s research focuses primarily on professional issues within RT, organizational management, compassion fatigue among RT professionals, and evaluating the benefits and outcomes of service-learning programs at the University of Tennessee. She has held several service roles including Co-Chair of the 2010 and 2011 ATRA Research Institutes, ATRA Research Committee Chair (2015-2018), Board Member of SRTS (2015-present), Board Member of NCTRC (2019-2022), NCTRC Chair (2021-2022), and chair of the NCTRC Scholarship Committee (2023-present). Additionally, she serves on the editorial board for the American Journal of Recreation Therapy and the Therapeutic Recreation Journal.<\/p>\n

Professor Wozencroft\u2019s induction recognizes her outstanding scholarship, leadership, and dedication to advancing the field of recreational therapy. The department proudly congratulates her on this well-deserved honor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
