The COAPRT recognizes academic programs in colleges and universities that prepare new professionals to enter the parks, recreation, tourism, and related professions. COAPRT Accreditation is a status granted to an academic program that meets or exceeds stated criteria of educational quality.<\/p>\n<p>COAPRT is recognized by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chea.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Council for Higher Education Accreditation<\/a> (CHEA). <br class=\"clearshortcode\"><\/p>\n<h3>Evidence of Academic Program Quality<\/h3>\n<p>Pursuant to COAPRT standard 2.05.05 \u201cThe program annually posts the most current 7.0 series data and additional evidence reflecting program academic quality and student achievement on their program and\/or departmental website. Such information shall be consistent with The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements.\u201d The Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sports Studies annually provides two pieces of evidence that attest to the academic quality of the Therapeutic Recreation and Sport Management programs. For the Therapeutic Recreation program, see <a title=\"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/krss\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2019\/07\/NCTRC-Exam-Results-2016-2018.pdf\" href=\"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/krss\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2019\/07\/NCTRC-Exam-Results-2016-2018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the results of the most current aggregated results from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) examination<\/a>. Employers may not\u00a0acknowledge degrees and certificates from degree mills when providing tuition assistance for\u00a0continuing education. \u201cAccreditation\u201d from an accreditation mill can mislead students and the\u00a0public about the quality of an institution.
