Koinonia Retreat

This long-weekend, overnight camp program began in 2002 and is implemented in the same structure, style, and location as Camp Koinonia. Also known as “Retreat,” this camp was started because many of the young adults who were long-time Camp Koinonia campers had “aged out” of that program, and there are very few opportunities for young adults with disabilities to engage in appropriate leisure/recreation programs outside of the public school system. Like Camp Koinonia, the program is staffed by University of Tennessee students, where they serve as Counselors, Head Counselors, and Activity Staff members.

Koinonia Retreat is held at the Clyde M York 4-H Center in Crossville, TN. This year’s date is set for November 6th – November 9th, 2025. Applications will be available by August 25th. Please check our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram for updates or call our office at 865-974-4363.

Applications for Koinonia Retreat 2025 are now open! All applications must be submitted online and as accurately as possible. Acceptance into Koinonia Retreat is based on the availability of camper spaces and capacity of our staff. Your camper is not enrolled to attend this program until you receive an email verification from the TREE Team that your camper’s application has been approved. If have any questions or encounter any issues, please reach out to the TREE Team at trcamps@utk.edu or 865-974-4363.
