{"id":1622,"date":"2019-06-13T18:00:42","date_gmt":"2019-06-13T18:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cehhs-wds-dev.utk.edu\/klass\/?p=1622"},"modified":"2019-06-13T17:50:36","modified_gmt":"2019-06-13T17:50:36","slug":"summer-social-skills-group-teens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/klass\/2019\/06\/13\/summer-social-skills-group-teens\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Social Skills Group (Teens)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The KLASS Center is seeking teenage girls and boys who have social skills challenges; especially social skill challenges associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), to participate in a social skills development group this summer.<\/p>\n<p>If there is enough interest, we would like to run a girls&#8217; group and a boys group for 6 to 8 weeks. Social Skill areas of focus may vary depending on the general group needs, but some examples that might be covered are 1) Listening attentively, 2) Entering and exiting conversations, 3) Greeting others, 4) Learning to disagree appropriately, among other skill areas.<\/p>\n<p>We are targeting teens between 13-17. While we are especially interested in teens with ASD, we are open to taking teens who do not have a diagnosis, but who do have some significant social skill challenges.
