The KLASS Center offers supplemental support services for University of Tennessee degree-seeking students who fall on the Autism Spectrum (Including High Functioning Autism and\/or Asperger’s Syndrome). Most UT students on the spectrum would not be considered disabled, and do not receive services through the Student Disability Services office, but they are faced with a unique set of challenges with communication and social interactions. Currently, we provide supplemental services individually and\/or in a group format to improve these students’ communication and social skills, but if final approval is obtained, we will be consolidating the services into the Postsecondary Autism Support Services (PASS) Program. The program will be for enrolled degree-seeking students at the University of Tennessee and\/or admitted students to include the individual and group services, but also case management, and possible course credit.
