Many campus and community medical providers require a formal evaluation before prescribing medications. This assessment is designed to meet that need and help guide next steps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What Is an ADHD Evaluation?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a detailed, evidence-based assessment that looks at your attention, thinking skills, and mental health to determine whether ADHD is the most accurate explanation for your concerns. Because symptoms like distractibility, disorganization, or low motivation can also be caused by other issues\u2014such as anxiety, depression, or sleep disruption\u2014we also consider a <strong>full range of possibilities<\/strong> as part of a responsible diagnostic process.<\/p>\n<p>Our goal is to help you and your medical provider make informed decisions based on an accurate understanding of what\u2019s going on.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What the Evaluation Includes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Clinical Interview<\/strong>: We\u2019ll talk with you about your experiences, history, and current concerns.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Standardized Testing<\/strong>: You\u2019ll complete tasks and questionnaires that assess attention, memory, executive functioning, and emotional well-being.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Developmental History<\/strong>: Because ADHD begins in childhood, we may ask for academic records or speak with someone who knew you growing up (with your permission).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Differential Diagnosis<\/strong>: We assess not just for ADHD, but also screen for other conditions that might better explain your challenges.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Feedback and Report<\/strong>: Once the evaluation is complete, we\u2019ll meet with you to explain the findings in plain language.
