The Billie Grace Goodrich Distinguished Lecture Series<\/a> joins with the Bogue Lecture Series<\/a> to present our 2021 distinguished lecturer for this year’s event.<\/p>\n

\"Jerlando<\/a>The 2021 lecturer for this year’s virtual event is Jerlando F.L. Jackson. Jackson is the Vilas Distinguished Professor of Higher Education, Department Chair of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, and the Director and Chief Research Scientist of Wisconsin’s Equity and Inclusion Laboratory (Wei Lab) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.\u00a0 His lecture, “Disrupting Organizational Disparities: A Chief Leadership Challenge Post 2020” will be presented Wednesday, February 24, from 1-2:30 PM EST via Zoom presentation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Billie Grace Goodrich Distinguished Lecture Series was funded by Mr. Henry C. Goodrich and his wife, Billie Grace Goodrich. These lectures are intended to contribute to the intellectual life of the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences and to provide the public with new and provocative ideas, stimulating thought and possible solutions to educational problems in the United States.<\/p>\n

The Bogue Lecture Series was funded by former Interim UT-Chattanooga Vice Chancellor and ELPS professor Gray Bogue who passed away in 2013. These lectures offer the opportunity for faculty, staff, and students have the opportunity to learn from a scholar within the field of higher education about diversity, inclusion, and equity, particularly as these themes relate to educational policy and practice.<\/p>\n

This year’s event is sponsored by the Bailey Graduate School of Education<\/a> along with the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies<\/a> and the CEHHS Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion<\/a>.<\/p>\n
