Since that ceremony, we have had several more colleagues win university and community awards and recognitions.&nbsp; Read below for a listing of these additional awards by our amazing colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (CEHHS) is proud to recognize several faculty members for their outstanding achievements and contributions. Let\u2019s celebrate their success!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Youn-Kyung (Lydia) Kim (RHTM)<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/rhtm\/people\/youn-kyung-kim\/\">Kim<\/a> is ranked #2 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, among top researchers in Business and Management, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/research.com\/\"><em>Research.com<\/em><\/a>. Nationally, she is ranked #441 among her peers in the United States. Learn more about Kim\u2019s exceptional research and scholarly work <a href=\"https:\/\/research.com\/u\/youn-kyung-kim\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Junehee Kwon (RHTM)<\/strong><br>In May, <a href=\"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/rhtm\/people\/junehee-kwon\/\">Kwon<\/a> received the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkhospitality.org\/stars-the-pauly-awards\/\">2025 Pauly Award<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkhospitality.org\/\">Greater Knoxville Hospitality Association<\/a>, being honored as Industry Educator of the Year. This recognition follows a series of milestones for RHTM, including <a href=\"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/hospitality-and-tourism-management-program-earns-full-accreditation-from-acpha\/\">HTM program accreditation<\/a> and the department\u2019s first <a href=\"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/rhtm\/blissful-wish-wedding\/\">\u201cBlissful Wish Wedding.\u201d<\/a> Additionally, students Kylie Nayakwadi and Grace Keffer were awarded scholarships from the association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Robert Kelchen (ELPS)<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/elps\/people\/robert-kelchen\/\">Kelchen<\/a> was recognized for Research and Creative Achievement at the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/news.utk.edu\/2025\/04\/30\/outstanding-students-faculty-and-staff-recognized-at-honors-banquets\/\">Academic Honors Banquet<\/a> hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/provost.utk.edu\/\">Office of the Provost<\/a>. Earlier this year,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edweek.org\/\"><em>Education Week<\/em>&nbsp;<\/a>once again named him a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edweek.org\/policy-politics\/opinion-the-2025-rhsu-edu-scholar-public-influence-rankings-unveiled\/2025\/01\">Top Scholar Influencer<\/a>. He also serves as associate editor of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/journal\/11162\"><em>Research in Higher Education<\/em><\/a>, data editor for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonmonthly.com\/\"><em>Washington Monthly<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;magazine\u2019s college guide and rankings, and was the 2023 recipient of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashe.ws\/cpphe-award#:~:text=In%20particular%2C%20this%20award%20focuses,are%20eligible%20for%20this%20award.\">Excellence in Public Policy in Higher Education Award<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashe.ws\/\">Association for the Study of Higher Education\u2019s<\/a> Council on Public Policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Mary Due\u00f1as (ELPS)<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/elps\/people\/mary-duenas\/\">Due\u00f1as<\/a> is the inaugural recipient of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gradschool.utk.edu\/about-graduate-school\/oiepe\/mentoring\/outstanding-doctoral-mentor-award\/\">Outstanding Doctoral Mentoring Award<\/a>, to be presented at the <a href=\"https:\/\/gradschool.utk.edu\/academics\/graduation\/graduate-hooding\/\">Doctoral Hooding Ceremony<\/a> on May 15. She was nominated by mentee Abraham Cervantes, who shared,<br><em>&#8220;Without her encouragement and affirmation, I am certain I would not be here today. Dra. Due\u00f1as\u2019s mentorship has been a lifeline\u2014guiding me through moments of self-doubt and helping me see the importance of my voice, my story, and my place in this field. Because of her, I am not just surviving in this program; I am thriving. She has given me a vision for my future that I never thought possible, and for that, I am eternally thankful.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Leia Cain (ELPS)<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/elps\/people\/leia-k-cain\/\">Cain<\/a> received the Tammy K. Renalds LGBT+ Communities Advocate Award at the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.utk.edu\/2025\/04\/30\/outstanding-students-faculty-and-staff-recognized-at-honors-banquets\/\">Chancellor\u2019s Honors Banquet<\/a> in April. She collaborates with campus partners to develop inclusive initiatives that support the success and well-being of LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff within higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Lindsey Hornbuckle (KRSS)<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/cehhs.utk.edu\/krss\/lyndsey-hornbuckle-phd-rd\/\">Hornbuckle<\/a> was honored with the <a href=\"https:\/\/liveutk.sharepoint.com\/sites\/faculty-senate\/SitePages\/Recognizing-Faculty-for-their-Heart-and-Soul-(May-2025).aspx\">\u201cHeart and Soul Award\u201d<\/a> at the final Faculty Senate meeting of the academic year, recognizing her compassion, service, and collaborative leadership. A dedicated mentor, she is known for her unwavering commitment to student success. For the past two years, she has served as a faculty fellow in the <a href=\"https:\/\/dae.utk.edu\/communityengagement\/\">Office of Community Engagement and Outreach<\/a>, helping to advance equity, respect, and community care across the greater Knoxville area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wow, what a year it has been for CEHHS faculty!&nbsp; Congratulations again to all those who won our College awards.
