ENGINEERING VOLS

SKYDIVE OVER BIG ORANGE COUNTRY

Engineering Vols take to the Tennessee skies to experience aerodynamics in-person. Mechanical engineering senior Dana Bjorn applied her free time during the COVID-19 pandemic to take an accelerated course in skydiving.

Advanced Manufacturing

Improving hybrid and soft materials and fabrication for novel functionality and sustainable processing, and enabling real-world advanced manufacturing through nanoscale welding, 3D printing strategies, and precision engineering for metals.

Financial Aid

Three types of financial aid are available for students: scholarships, loans, and part-time employment. The college and its departments annually award more than $1 million in scholarships to qualified undergraduates. To apply for engineering scholarships, students must be accepted into both UT and the college.

UT is a member of the Academic Common Market , which enables out-of-state students to pursue college degrees at discounted, in-state tuition rates. The college offers several programs approved to participate in the program.

Provides an opportunity for academically qualified students to experience a broader and more challenging preparation for their chosen engineering discipline. Personalized opportunities are available in research, entrepreneurship, global studies, and community engagement.

First-year students admitted to the college are automatically enrolled in engage one of the nation’s most innovative freshman engineering programs. The program is a cutting edge, success-oriented approach to first-year engineering education with a curriculum built around teaming students for project-oriented, hands-on activities.

Engineering Entrepreneurship Program

Designed to give students the skills to create economic value from technological ideas, to protect and grow intellectual properties, to create successful funding proposals, and to detect and take advantage of technology trends.
