LEADERSHIP STUDIES<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Leadership Studies minor, offered by the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, is a 12-credit program designed to prepare students for careers and civic engagement. Open to all majors, the minor combines leadership theory with hands-on experiences. Students will develop skills and confidence to apply their leadership learning and practice in college, community, and career settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trans-disciplinary nature of the Leadership Studies program provides all undergraduates, regardless of major, the opportunity to expand their leadership knowledge. Students who complete requirements may also qualify for the Leadership Studies Minor, an academic distinction that complements any major field of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Leadership Studies Minor!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Most people only think about developing Leadership when it is tied to a formal role. Our Leadership Studies Minor curriculum starts with the idea that leadership is an activity available to anyone at any time! The Leadership Studies course sequence is a 12-credit minor that helps students learn how to practice leadership activity!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program is open to all students from all majors and aims to enhance the collegiate experience by preparing students for career and civic life beyond graduation! The curriculum uses hands-on learning to teach leadership. Students will have structured opportunities to combine contemporary leadership studies theory with coached leadership experiences! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These coached leadership experiences are designed to give students real-life practice in engaging with leadership processes, facilitating change in civic and organizational contexts, and navigating group dynamics to make progress of adaptive leadership challenges. Students receive personalized feedback from professional quality leadership developers that are committed to using evidence-based teaching methods to develop leadership capacity! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
