Mary Reid Martens, originally from Jackson, Mississippi, earned her B.A. in English from Princeton University in 2010 and her M.A. in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2016. Passionate about experiential learning in all forms, she has led outdoor trips, worked as a volunteer coordinator, taught high school English and history, and recently served as the Academic Dean at The Traveling School, a study abroad program for high school girls in southern Africa and South America. She currently coordinates the Haslam Leadership Scholars program at UTK and is a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
