CSPA Executive Council

The College Student Personnel Association (CSPA) Executive Council serves a vital role in the success of the program. The program’s mission is to prepare graduate students for work serving others in higher education or related services. This council presents an amazing opportunity for graduate students to take on a leadership role in preparation for their future careers in the field!

The College Student Personnel Association (CSPA) program’s Executive Council currently consists of the following:

Ethney Dosenbach, President

  • Plan and facilitating regular CSPA executive and group meetings
  • Manage the organizational email account
  • Meet continuously with the program coordinator to ensure effective and efficient programming and partnering within the program
  • Serve as the chair for the Graduate Hooding Committee
  • Serve as first student appointment to any University of Tennessee committees with intersecting interests
  • Serve as an aid to all other executive team members

Maiben Mitchell, Vice President of Recruitment

  • Coordinate recruitment programming for prospective students (Recruitment Weekend, Prospective Student Panel, Faculty and Current Student Panel, New Student Meet & Greet, etc)
  • Serve as the chair for the Recruitment Weekend Committee
  • Serve as one of the CSPA student representatives on the Recruitment weekend planning committee alongside professional staff within the Division of Student Life
  • Serve as a point of contact for students interested in the CSP program by providing resources and connecting them to current students
  • Serve as an aide to all other executive team members

Liyah King, Vice President of Community Development

  • Plan social events each semester
  • Advise social programming coming out of committees
  • Plan end of semester social celebration for the graduating cohort
  • Coordinate graduate reception at CSP Hooding for graduates and their families.
  • Coordinate the CSPal peer mentoring program
  • Serve as the chair of the Social Committee
  • Serve as an aid to all other executive team members

Zach Aaron, Vice President of Communications

  • Maintain and update all CSPA social media accounts
  • Assist the CSP program with updating the CSPA portion of the CSP Website
  • Create or coordinate all communications for programming (e.g., Interview Weekend, Visit Days, workshops, etc.)
  • Serve as the chair for the Communications Committee
  • Serve as an aid to all other executive team members

Timothy Nesmith, Vice President of Finance and Membership

  • Maintain and present on the budget for the organization
  • Collect dues and any other monies necessary
  • Maintain the appropriate records for membership status including a database of members that should be updated semesterly
  • Provide information to all members of CSPA university funding resources
  • Responsible for coordinating CSPA purchases and reimbursing people in a timely manner (e.g., materials, programming, swag)
  • Create one fundraising opportunity per semester that members can participate in
  • Serve as an aid to all other executive team members

Vacant, Vice President of Undergraduate Relations

  • Serve as the advisor for the student organization for undergraduate students interested in a career in Student Affairs upon graduation.
  • Coordinate efforts between the Division of Student Life and NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP) to recruit and market to members. Specifically recruit VSA members by leveraging CSP cohorts’ assistantships.
  • Assist members in locating information, mentors, and valuable resources regarding graduate programs and the profession of student affairs.
  • Facilitate partnership opportunities between CSPA (e.g., Careers in Student Affairs Month in October).
  • Provide resource guides and application timelines to undergraduate student leaders looking into Master’s Programs, CSP, and otherwise. 
  • Facilitate opportunities for undergraduate students interested in student affairs to participate and engage with regional and national conferences (SAACURH, NACURH, SEAHO, TACUHO, SACSA, NASPA, ACPA, etc).
  • Serve as the chair of the Undergraduate Relations Committee
  • Serve as an aid to all other executive team members

Vacant, Vice President of Alumni Relations

  • Compile alumni accolades, internships, & job placements for the program website & general reference
  • Co-coordinate opportunities for alumni engagement with the CSP program (e.g. CSP Facebook group, Alumni Listserv, networking nights, etc.)
  • Make a semesterly alumni newsletter in conjunction with the VP for Communications 
  • Serve as an aid to all other executive team members
